195th edition of Loja Fair Kicks Off with a Vibrant

The Feria de Loja has been held continuously since 1829, the year when Liberator Simón Bolívar decreed it to promote integration among the countries of Gran Colombia. Bolívar envisioned Loja as a central hub for trade exchange and cultural promotion, making it the first fair in South America.

This year marks the 195th edition of the largest fair in Ecuador and one of the oldest in the Americas.

Entrepreneurship, commerce, industry, gastronomy, tradition, entertainment, music, and culture will be the themes of the various events taking place from August 29 to September 22.

Over the years, the Feria de Loja has established itself as the largest fair in Ecuador and aims to strengthen its position in northern Peru, further enhancing cross-border integration.

Around 40 entrepreneurs and artisans from across the province displayed their products, including traditional snacks, wines, and spirits made from native ingredients, as well as hot sauces and desserts. More than 600 exhibitors from various regions of the country have gathered to offer their products to Loja’s families at affordable prices.

Fun and excitement filled the air at the amusement park, where all rides, including the iconic Ferris wheel, were inspected and approved by the relevant authorities for visitors' safety.

As a special highlight, visitors have the chance to win a family SUV, model SWMG03, displayed outside the PRO LOJA Pavilion with their admission ticket.
